How Black Ops 7 Reinvents Classic Zombies Gameplay

The developers, Kevin Drew and Dan Laugher, also revealed that Directed Mode and Cursed Mode are returning. Directed Mode helps new players follow the narrative without spoilers, while Cursed Mode throws veterans into high-stakes challenges featuring retro-style point systems and limited gear.

Beyond that, the game expands on the traditional upgrade and Perk-Cola systems. Returning favorites receive new augments, while new additions like “Wisp T” and “Toxic Growth” bring fresh tactical options. The combination of modern mechanics and nostalgic callbacks suggests that Black Ops 7 is designed to satisfy both newcomers and long-time fans alike.

With multiple gameplay modes, evolving challenges, and a massive world map, Ashes of the Damned could be the definitive Zombies experience when Black Ops 7 launches on November 14.
