The Pens brought the Stanley Cup with them for their official visit with the Commander in Chief. As is also the custom, President Obama had some solid one-liners planned for his visitors. Of the many memorable moments from the Penguins winning their fourth NHL title, one was Phil Ke sel overcoming years of criticism and ridicule to become a Stanley Cup champion the season following his trade from the Toronto Maple Leafs. Ke sel's moment with Mike Schmidt Jersey the Cup on the ice was one of the lasting images from the team's celebration. Additionally, it sparked a bit of a meme among hockey fans who wanted to rub in Ke sel's accomplishment to his many critics. it goes a little something like this: One person, in most earnest fashion, asks, "Is Phil Ke sel a Stanley Cup champion?" The person asked, inevitably answers in the affirmative, often this way: "Yes, Phil Ke sel is a Stanley Cup champion."
